The Smith Family Toy & Book Appeal

As we draw closer to the holiday season, everyone is beginning to think about their plans and importantly, their Christmas shopping.

We are all aware of how costly Christmas can be and many families have to face the challenge of been able to cope financially with the holidays.

This week we held our quarterly breakfast and Ashleigh Bray and Deborah Mcardle from The Smith Family’s Midland office came to speak to us about their involvement with Midland families.

They dedicate a lot their time to provide disadvantaged families with the support they need.

We have a strong partnership with The Smith Family, from our family camps to other ventures like our recent sport fundraising night. However, after listening to Ashleigh and Deb, we wanted to do more for our local community.

This Christmas the Real Estate Plus office will be a collection point for donated toys and books for The Smith Family, who aim to provide 43,500 new toys and 29,000 new books to children aged zero to 12 in need around Australia for the holidays.

We invite all of our clients, friends and family to donate a new toy or book and drop off to us before Friday, December 4. We will then deliver to The Smith Family’s collection point on their behalf. The toys and books collected will be distributed to families within WA.

Please note that some items can’t be accepted, including large items such as bikes, hula hoops, adult cricket bats, large doll house, ride-on toys and tennis sets. Other things to avoid are second hand or handmade toys, clothes and Manchester (including costumes), toiletries (perfume, makeup, nail polish), toys that replicate weapons, religious items, calendars or diaries, candles and lamps, adult games or toys, items used for marketing a brand and breakable objects. Books and toys should be unwrapped when donated.

This is a great opportunity to help people in need this Christmas.
