“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”

Tony Robbins.

At Real Estate Plus when you enter our office you will often find goal setting quotes around the place and inspirational memorabilia on the walls, so you can gather that REP loves to set goals. We believe that in order to achieve exceptional results for our clients, we need to set both our own personal and business goals. Successful organisations and people all have one thing in common and that is; focus and clear defined goals. So to ensure our team are of the above, we provide them with training workshops every six months about setting goals and working towards better results for the future.

Last week our Sales division, Plus Loans and Plus Your Settlements attended one of these internal training conferences down in Pinjarra. The program consisted of two components; personal goal setting and then business goal setting/training. Due to the size of our organisation there was two groups; one came down Wednesday and Thursday while the other Thursday and Friday. Thursday was the business goal/training and the other two days were for personal goal setting.

Wednesday- Personal Goal Setting: Group One

The personal goal setting days was designed so the team could reflect on what they have done in the past financial year, whether that be positive or negative. Then take from what they have learnt and set some goals for the future. People often question why a business would allocate time for personal goal setting and why not just focus on business goals and development. Our argument to this is that, everyone needs balance, if your personal life is suffering that can often be transferred to your business practise vice versa. This training day was a time for the team to set goals for the future and if they chose to you, could share it with one another. The feedback from this part of the training was positive and not more the once we heard the comment “I never thought of it like that”. Some of the exercises in that day included; vision boards, identifying your strengths and financial planning.

The business goal setting/training day was where both groups were combined for one a huge training day. The business goal setting focused on the new 2016/2017 financial year and also the overall organisation’s goal for the future. This day was also like an internal focus group where the team were able to discuss and debate certain concerns or issues that we are currently facing. The day ran for quite some time and the team walked away with strong focus for the future.

One of the other elements of this day was the introduction of our Bigger, Brighter, Better campaign- what’s that you may ask; they is something we are currently in the works on and we will be releasing it to the public very, very soon. Stay tuned. One of the highlights of the day was our role playing. Role playing is great way to learn new scripts and dialogues and just how to improve your communication skills. Some of the scenarios the team were given to act out were quite comical and we must say, we didn’t realise how good some of the team are when having to work on the spot.

Overall we believe the training was a success and we cannot wait to celebrate when our teams achieve their goals. We are so excited for the new financial year and looking forward to kicking many, many goals.
